Impostare i DNS
L’impostazione dei server DNS sul nostro computer e’ una delle basi per il corretto funzionamento di internet.
Ogni provider fornisce solitamente i propri server DNS per i clienti, ma spesso gli indirizzi di questi server sono difficili da reperire e non sempre sono efficienti.
Per questo vi consiglio di utilizzare i server DNS pubblici di Google o di OpenDNS. L’ultilizzo di questi server vi permette inoltre di avere indirizzi che potete facilmente ricordare nel caso li dobbiate impostare ex-novo su un nuovo computer.

Certificati SSL Gratuiti o Quasi
Volevo segnalarvi la possibilita’ di avere certificati SSL gratuiti per il vostro server o per l’email sicura tramite StartCom StartSSL ( https://www.startssl.com ). Al sito si accede solo tramite protocollo HTTPS, se provate ad aprirlo con il normale HTTP il sito non risponde.
Durante la registrazione riceverete il vostro primo certificato email gratuito, che servira’ per i successivi accessi al pannello di controllo in quanto non e’ previsto l’accesso tramite la piu’ comune password.
Vi consiglio quindi di salvare il certificato in un posto sicuro per non perdere l’accesso al pannello di controllo.
Dal pannello di controllo potete richiedere i vostri certificati gratuiti (con la sola validazione del dominio o email).
Se volete poi caratteristiche avanzate come i certificati wildcard, la presenza del vostro nome o della vostra azienda sui certificati potete richiedere, a pagamento, la verifica dei vostri dati o quelli della vostra azienda: cio’ vi permettera’ di avere anche i certificati EV (Extended Validation) che mostrano la striscia verde accanto al vostro dominio.
La cosa interessante e’ che la verifica vi consente comunque di richiedere un numero illimitato di certificati, permettendovi cosi’ di pagare una sola volta e non per ogni certificato.

If you don’t find a template that fits your business precisely, investigate which companies offer to design custom-made templates for your usage. This will cost more but prices are kept lower than hiring a designer and the results are just as good – if not better.
When you find the right template after reviewing the available designs, the rest is simple. All you have to do is purchase the template and download it to your hard drive in seconds.
Step Three: Customize
With the template all ready to go, all you have to do is add your own content, graphics, images – anything you need to make the site your own. If you can use a simple editor such as DreamWeaver or FrontPage, this can be done in a few days or less. If you are inexperienced when it comes to any aspect of web design you can hire someone to do the editing for you for a very small fee – much smaller than what you would pay a designer to create the whole site from scratch.
When adding content, if you only require a few simple words, consider writing the text yourself. If you need a lot more information, such as product descriptions, articles or sales content, consider hiring a writer to create unique, high-quality content. Because you saved so much money purchasing a ready-made website template, you can spend a little more hiring a great writer! If you write the material on your own, remember to keep it short. Keep paragraphs short and don’t bog the reader down with unnecessary information. People are in a hurry and don’t want to spend a lot of time reading pages and pages of writing. Let your visitors get the information they need so they can move on and buy your product or service, but also make sure the information you provide is actually helpful and written without grammar or spelling mistakes.
The overall design should be kept simple, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add graphics, pictures or even video. As long as you keep it uncomplicated visitors will not regret visiting your site and learning more about your business. Not everyone has high-speed Internet yet, so fast loading pages are still a consideration.
Other additions include tables, forms and quizzes. Tables specifically are an easy way to organize text on a web page and they load very quickly. Most HTML editors make it easy to generate tables on your website.

Per la prima volta in Italia, due internet service provide, Fastweb e Ngi, sono indagati con l’accusa di favoreggiamento per non aver inibito l’accesso alla piattaforma pirata ‘Btjunkie’, uno dei piu’ grandi supermercati mondiali del falso multimediale. Il provvedimento e’ stato assunto dal sostituto procuratore del Tribunale di Cagliari, Giangiacomo Pilia, nell’ambito di un’operazione condotta dal nucleo di Polizia tributaria della Gdf del capoluogo sardo.
Dallo scorso aprile, l’accesso ai siti www.btjunkie.org e www.btjunkie.com era stato negato per ordine della Procura cagliaritana: circa 550 mila italiani usavano ogni giorno la super piattaforma digitale pirata da cui era possibile scaricare musica, film, videogiochi e software, anche con le piu’ recenti uscite commerciali e spesso in contemporanea con le anteprime.
Secondo l’accusa, i due provider hanno continuato a consentire l’accesso nonostante il divieto imposto dal magistrato. Il dato e’ emerso dal continuo monitoraggio della rete effettuato dagli investigatori al fine di dare concreta attuazione del ripristino della cyberlegalita’ sul web.
Fastweb ha fatto sapere oggi che si sarebbe trattato di un mero incidente tecnologico, i cui motivi sono in corso di approfonditi riscontri all’interno dell’azienda. Il colosso Isp ha anche precisato che ora e’ perfettamente operante la totale inibizione all’accesso al megastore pirata per i propri utenti italiani.

Aggiornamento su Google+
Sono finalmente riuscito a registrarmi ed entrare in Google+, grazie ad un invito inviato da un sito citato in precedente post.
Potete quindi richiedermi nei commenti un invito, magari gentilmente cliccando sul bottone “Like” e “+1″ in alto al post.
Non mi viene comunque comunicato quante persone e’ possibile invitare, vi accontentero’ salvo disponibilita’.

La mia esperienza con Linkem
Forse conoscerete Linkem ( http://www.linkem.com ), uno dei principali provider di connessioni Wi-MAX in Italia.
Qualche mese fa decisi di provare questa nuova tecnologia, accoppiandola all’ADSL come connessione di backup in caso di problemi, ma anche per poter avere una connessione sempre disponibile nel caso dovessi spostarmi, visto che con uno stesso abbonamento ci si puo’ connettere ovunque ci sia copertura, un come l’UMTS. Tutto questo andando anche contro i vari post in giro per la rete che segnalano problemi e disservizi che dall’assistenza vengono ignorati.
L’abbonamento scelto e’ il Linkem MAX 20 che al momento della sottoscrizione era in offerta per 6 mesi, e prevede una connessione 24 ore su 24 con traffico illimitato a velocita’ massime di 7Mbit in download e 1 Mbit in upload. Naturamente, come la maggior parte dei provider, tali velocita’ non sono garantite, e non viene neanche specificata una velocita’ minima garantita.
Sin dai primi giorni la connessione si e’ comportata bene, avendo nel mio appartamento una ricezione del segnale ottima; le velocita’ promesse si raggiungono facilmente, a volte le ho anche superate, con le fluttuazioni comunque tipiche in orari di punta.
Durante la mia esperienza si e’ guastato il modem/router wi-fi fornito in comodato. In questo caso l’assistenza (dopo avermi tartassato con una serie di prove inutili tipo “stacca il cavo, riattacca il cavo, riavvia il router, stacca la corrente…”) ha finalmente deciso che il router era guasto ed e’ stato prontamente sostituito con consegna a domicilio del nuovo router e ritiro sempre a domicilio di quello guasto.
Ed ora viene la parte interessante.
Verso meta’ giugno, improvvisamente sparisce il segnale della rete Linkem. Chiamo immediatamente l’assistenza e mi viene confermato che c’e’ un guasto sulla loro infrastruttura e che dei tecnici stanno provvedendo alla riparazione.
Ebbene questi tecnici sono (suppostamente) al lavoro sul problema da circa tre settimane, e non hanno ancora riparato il guasto. Ormai ho perso la speranza e recedero’ dal contratto quanto prima.
Dal call center dell’assistenza non fanno altro che dirmi “il problema e’ in fase di risoluzione”. Tutto li’. E nel frattempo pago per una connessione che non esiste.
Mi sono anche chiesto se fossi l’unico utente Linkem della mia zona e fosse quindi per loro anti-economico effettuare la riparazione. E l’ho chiesto anche a loro, confermandomi che non sono l’unico.
Ora io ho gia’ altro modo di connettermi ad internet, ma in che situazione saranno coloro che non altra altra possibilita’ che Linkem?
In conclusione, le connessioni Wi-MAX di Linkem funzionano finche’ funzionano. Se c’e’ un guasto rimani a piedi.
Mi sento quindi di sconsigliare a chiunque tale provider, unendomi al coro delle voci presenti sul web che avevo inizialmente ignorato.
